Finaly, I ‘ve just bought a HP F2180 after a long tour searching for economic multifunction printer that runs with My UBuntu fully. And HP F2180 have just been giving me those.
Once I plug the USB cable to my laptop (Lenovo Y400), ubuntu 8.04 directly detect F2180 and install the printer driver very smoothly and I didn’t do anything to let it happen !
Firstly, once i turn on the power, F2180 print a paper that consist of some letters and something like barcode, this paper need by the printer to adjust it’s catridge by it self. All I need to do was place that first printed paper on the scanner and start scanning, just that’s it !
After a few seconds, I tried print some pages from OpenOffice 2.4, and it’s perfectly done ! Then, I tried scan some documents with XSane image scanner, and voila! it works wonderfull
Well done HP !
